John Hall (1846–1902)

John was born on 11 Aug, 1846 in East Holywell, Holywella1, the second son of Matthew Hall (1821–1892)★, a collier, and Mary Miller (1825–1878)★. He is Ian's great great grandfather.

John was recorded in the 1851 census in Hartley, Northumberlandb1 with his father Matthew, now a coal miner, mother Mary and two siblings George and Matthew.

By the time of the 1861 census he was living in Bebside, Cowpenc1 with his father Matthew, mother Mary and four siblings George, a coal miner, Matthew, a coal miner, James and William.

He married Elizabeth Emma Carr (1849–1907)★ on 23 Dec, 1867 at St Alban's Church, Earsdona2,d1 . They went on to have six children.

John was recorded in the 1871 census in Waterloo, Cowpeng1 with his wife Elizabeth Emma and son Matthew.

By the time of the 1881 census he was living in Bothal Demesne, Northumberlandh1 with his wife Elizabeth Emma and four children Matthew, John, George Wilson and Mary Elizabeth.

In the 1891 census he was living at 28 Fourth Row, Ashingtonk1 with his wife Elizabeth Emma and six children James William, a coal miner, Matthew, a coal miner, John, a coal miner, George Wilson, Mary Elizabeth and Margaret B.

John died at the age of fifty-five on 5 Apr, 1902 in Ashingtona6 He was survived by his wife Elizabeth Emma.
