George Brooks (1819–1861)

George was born on 22 May, 1819 in Weybread, Suffolka1, the only son of Rebecca Brooks (1795–?)★. His father is not known. He was baptised as an infant on 25 Jul, 1819 in Weybreada1. He is Ian's 3x great grandfather.

He married Frances Snowling (1819–1885)★, a servant, on 31 Jan, 1839 in Fressingfield, Suffolkb1 . They had six children.

By the time of the 1851 census he was living in Mendhame1 with his wife Frances and five children Rebecca, William, Anna Maria, Sarah Ann and Betsy.

In the 1861 census he was living in Mendhamf1 with his wife Frances and daughter Betsy.

George died at the age of forty-two on 24 May, 1861 in Mendhamb5 and was buried seven days later in Mendhamc2 He was survived by his wife Frances.
