Philip was recorded in the 1851 census at Church Cliffs, Lyme Regisb1 with his brother Peter.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Eyers (1820–1897)★, a servant, on 7 Aug, 1853 in Lyme Regis, Dorsetc1,d1 and went on to have four children with her.

In the 1861 census he was living at Church Street, Lyme Regise1 with his wife Sarah Elizabeth and four children Thomas, George Bartholemew, Susan Priscilla and Frances Mary.

Philip was recorded in the 1871 census at Denning's Court, Lyme Regisf1 with his wife Sarah Elizabeth and three children George Bartholemew, a plough boy, Susan Priscilla and Frances Mary.

By the time of the 1881 census he was living at Georges Court, Lyme Regisg1 with his wife Sarah Elizabeth and daughter Susan Priscilla, a domestic servant.

In the 1891 census he was living at Georges Courth1 with his wife Sarah Elizabeth.
