Arthur Frederick Benjamin was born on 15 Aug, 1879 in Great Burstead, Essexa1, the fifth son of Henry Guiver (1841–1895)★, a post messenger, and Susan Young (1844–1921)★. He was baptised as an infant on 26 Oct, 1879 in Great Bursteadb1. He is Ian's great grandfather.

Arthur was recorded in the 1881 census in South Green, Great Bursteadc1 with his father Henry, now a rural letter carrier, mother Susan and seven siblings Alice Eve, Augusta Ada, Lawrence Felton, Archibald Ernest, Florence Amy, Edith Amelia and Emmeline Maud.

By the time of the 1891 census he was living in South Greend1 with his father Henry, now a rural postman, mother Susan and five siblings Lawrence Felton, a grocer's porter, Archibald Ernest, a groom, Edith Amelia, Emmeline Maud and Albert Edmund.

He married Ethel Sweetland (1894–1987)★ on 21 Jan, 1918 at The Register Office in West Hama2 . They went on to have five children.

Arthur was recorded in the 1921 census at 41 Vincent Streetf1 with his wife Ethel and two children (person lived 1920s to 2010s) and (person born in the 1910s).

Arthur died at the age of fifty-eight on 14 Aug, 1938 at Central Home, Leytonstonea3 He was survived by his wife Ethel.
