I had a search of the North Aston registers to see if I could find any events related to Winifred Rose since it’s quite an unusual name. I found a Winifred Mobbs being buried in 1748:

• 1748 Jun 27 - Winifred the wife of George Mobbs, buried, North Aston¹

I think this is a good match for Winifred Rose.

I also checked the Oxfordshire will transcript index and found the will of a William East sr. of Somerton dated 29 Oct 1735, probate 14 Mar 1738². It mentions several Roses:

Bridgett, his daughter, is noted as being recently deceased by 1735. This matches up with the burial we found of Bridget Rose in 1733 in Somerton. We don’t have any baptisms for the other Roses even though we have read through the Somerton registers for this period.

We decided to read through the Upper Heyford registers. It’s the next parish to the south and we now have a mention of Joseph and William Rose living there in 1651.
