I received a reply from the Royal Artillery Museum regarding the 4th Mountain Battery battery diaries/digests.
Dear Ian Davis,
Thank you for your enquiry, and I am sorry for the delay in replying.
Yes, we have Battery Digests for 4 Mountain Battery, Royal Artillery. It went through several different names, and in common with our other Battery Digests the papers are filled under the name it had in 1938, which was 104 Field Battery. I have not checked through every year, but it is unlikely that we have a complete set of Digests - I’m not sure that I’ve come across a battery for which we do.
If you are specifically interested in the period in Crete, there is a little more information than that given in the article you spotted, but not much. You would be welcome to visit the Archives to study the Digests, and I have attached our visitor leaflet.
Alternatively we do have a copying service, and I have attached a leaflet for this as well. Let me know what date range you are interested in and I can give you a quote.
Best wishes,

They offer a copying service priced at £10 for the first page and £1 for each additional page. I’v asked for a quote to copy the years from 1 October 1894 to 1 September 1900 when George was transferred to the 109th.
