I found a record of the Picketts living at 14 Anatola Road, Islington (which is very near Highgate Cemetery) in 1924. It made me remember that granddad recalled visiting them at “Anatole Road” when we spoke with him in 1986¹. He thought the number was 26 but what a remarkable memory of something that happened sixty years before!

There were three Picketts at the address: Henry Martin, Henry and Ellen. Henry Martin is the father, Henry is his son. Ellen is probably his daughter although it could be Helen Elizabeth, my granddad’s aunt.

Unfortunately my Ancestry record for Henry Martin states that he died in 1922, with no sources. So it seems he was still alive at that point. Looking again at what granddad said, this date has to be wrong. He said he “used to visit the Pickets (starting in the late 1920’s). Ellen was dead by then but I remember calling her husband “uncle””
