I have been writing more on the biography of George Henry Chambers and I am researching the period around when they were married. I noticed that although they married in December 1895 the did not have their first child (Rebecca) until January 1897. This isn’t that unusual but it made me wonder whether Louisa had been pregnant when they married and the child did not survive. I looked for deaths of Chambers in 1896 in Newport and found two, coincidentally both were aged 1.

Both of these were born too early so I think I can rule that theory out.
